EssentialChristians do not disagree on this
What just happened to me?
You responded to something — now let's name it. The gospel is news, not advice: Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose on the third day. You didn't clean yourself up and earn a place; God moved toward you while you were still His enemy. What happened is called grace, and the rest of your life is learning how deep it goes.
Milk is foundational teaching; meat is heavier (Hebrews 5:12–14).

Sanctification: The Believer’s Transformation, Part 2
Grace to You · 59 minMilk
Part 2 carries the argument forward: how God actually works the change in you — not by your willpower, but by His Spirit, over a lifetime.
The Doctrine of Regeneration
Voddie Baucham · 50 minMilk
The word for what just happened is regeneration — the new birth. Baucham shows it is God's doing from first to last: you didn't turn over a new leaf, you were made alive.
